With workshops during Saturday & Sunday afternoon!!!

Saturday, 18/11/2017
16:00 – 19:00 Playing with the axis

The connection in the couple is the most important communication element and essentiell for any improvisation. Most of the times this connection turns around the common axis in a dynamic balance but sometimes this axis is released which creates a new balance with a lot of possibilities. In the 3 hours we address the build-up of the connection und work on possibilities on the basis of movement examples varying from very easy to quite complex.

Sunday 19/11/2017
15:00 – 18:00 Rebotes: dynamics made easy

Regularity and stability are a good basis. The icing on the cake however is diversity – not in the sense of as many figures as possible but in the meaning of as much different executions of one and the same movement as possible. This creates a dynamic which keeps every single dance exciting and refreshing. Rebotes – elastic movements based on the principle of rebound – are due to their dynamic character extremely suitable to enhance your dance with an extra dimension.

Komala & Stefan are well known for their love of detail and their playfulness & fun during the lessons. During this intensive workshop weekend they concentrate on diversity, musicality and expression in the Tango.

To Komala & Stefan it matters a lot that the participants develop besides the insights into the technical part a keen sense how they can bring those concepts to life by applying the movements with different intensity being inspired through the music.

With Stefan & Komala

An afternoon with 2 intensive workshops and a break long enough to practice a little bit.
Stefan & Komala stand in for love to detail, connection & musicality.

15:30 – 17:00 Entradas: sacadas of a different kind
The theme of the first workshop is entradas – a softer version of sacadas where the leader tries to influence the movement of the follower as little as possible and instead takes the place that the follower leaves. This way very organic movements are created which can applied in both simple steps and complex turns.
17:30 – 19:00 Simple but good: changes of weight as a style element
The second workshop is completely dedicated to a simple but very effective concept of movement: the change of weight. This concept permits us not only to switch from the parallel to the cross system but also offers acces to surprising elements in our dance – both rhythmical and technical. As a result our dance gains depth and diversity with very simple methods.

With workshops during Saturday & Sunday afternoon!!!

Saturday 18/11/2016 16.00-19.00 o’clock Ochos: variety & expression
Sunday 19/11/2016 15.00-18.00 o’clock Dynamics and diversity with D’Arienzo & Troilo

Komala & Stefan are well known for their love of detail and their playfulness & fun during the lessons. During this intensive workshop weekend they concentrate on diversity, musicality and expression in the Tango.

Ochos belong to the nicest movements in Tango Argentino. We investigate the different possibilities how to get to an ocho and how we can use that to achieve more expression in the dance and the music. The most exciting question of course is how to develop other forms like boleos and changes of directions out of ochos. This question will be answered as well.

Dynamics and diversity touch one of the biggest fears of leaders: “Am I too boring to dance with? I’m dancing the same thing all the time.”
We show that even the simplest movements are enough to get some depth & colour into your dance if you execute the same movement with different intensity, dynamics & musicality. During this workshop we’ll also get involved with more complex movements like giros with the focus on the music. As a musical guideline we will use titles from two of the biggest orchestras in the history of the Tango Argentino: Juan D’Arienzo and An;iacute;bal Troilo. On the basis of different musical styles we’ll demonstrate how different movement can feel as long as you completely engage with the music.

To Komala & Stefan it matters a lot that the participants develop besides the insights into the technical part a keen sense how they can bring those concepts to life by applying the movements with different intensity being inspired through the music.

Workshops @ Tanzatelier Widance – 28-29.11.2015

Workshops @ Tanzatelier widance 28./29.11.2015

With Stefan & Komala

This time there will be workshops during Saturday & Sunday!!!

Saturday 28/11/2015 15.00-18.00 o’clock Get around: turns with sacadas & boleos
Sunday 29/11/2015 12.30-15.30 o’clock Change of direction: dynamic, musical, good

Komala & Stefan are well known for their love of detail and their playfulness & fun during the lessons. During this intensive workshop weekend they concentrate on 2 basic concepts in the Tango: turns and changes of direction.

Turns are a constant game of inviting & accepting that invitation. The art is to find the space for this interplay also in the close embrace. The focus in this workshop will be on both the basic technical elements as in change of weights, pivots and spiral movements in the body just as the timing that is essential to make those turns possible.

Changes of direction, also know as Alteraciónes, belong to the most surprising movements in the Tango. They demand from the leaders distinctness and softness at the same time and challenge the followers to admit to those unexpected changes of direction.

Both movement concepts are very suitable for the interpretation of music due to their dynamic character. To Komala & Stefan it matters a lot that the participants develop besides the insights into the technical part a keen sense how they can bring those concepts to life by applying the movements with different intensity being inspired through the music.
